Phi Phi Don Island

#1 Tonsai Bay

For most visitors to this island Tonsai bay is the first place you will see it is the main port on the island connected with Tonsai Pier all passanger ferrys and most longtail and Speedboat boat will bring you too here. Although the water is clear, this beach is filled from one end to the other with Longtail boats so there is not much space here to enjoy yourself.

#2 Long Beach

Long beach is one, if not the nicest strech of beach on Phi Phi Don island within walking distance from Tonsai village or Tonsai Pier. It can be reached by foot taking around thirty minutes to walk to from the center of Tonsai, alternatively a longtail boat can be chartered to take you there from Tonsai bay and will take approximately ten minutes to reach and will cost around 1000 THB.

#3 Loh Moo Dee Beach

Loh Moo Dee is one of Phi Phi Dons best kept secrets with all the attention focusing on Maya Bay and Bamboo Islands this beach sees substantialy less visitors, there are very few island tours that make a stop off here so too see it you would have to charter a private boat or it is possible to reach by foot but it will mean a hike to the top of the Viewpoint and back down the other side!

#4 Runtee Bay

Runtee or Rantee Bay is located further north of Tonsai village on Phi Phi Don island it can be reached only by Longtail boat and the clear waters and near private beaches make it one of the nicest spots to visit there are a few sea view hotels here and a small bar but nothing else, staying or visiting here is paradise.

#5 Pak Narn Bay

Try searching google for Pak Narn Bay, You will see there is hardley anything about this beautiful beach online, and if the internet doesnt know about it neither do the people visiting this island, with all the focus being on Phi Phi Leh island and Maya Bay this beach is completley forgotten about! There are small bungalows right on the secluded beach here where you can spend a night, no boat tours visit this beach so enjoy it to yourselves before the secret is out!

#6 Laem Tong

Koh Phi Phi’s most remote and possibly most exclusive beach, At the far northern end of Phi Phi Don, 45 minutes from Tonsai Village, Laem Tong Beach is beautiful, quiet and secluded since it can only be reached by boat. It could not be more different from Tonsai. There are only four resorts here, all very upmarket Laem Tong is a proper retreat beach.

#7 Loh Lana

This secluded beach on the top north end of Koh Phi Phi Don, it is so laid back an unheard, take a trip over here and you are guaranteed to see Phi Phi in a differnt light to most of the visitors on this island, get your own slice of paradise!

#8 Nui Bay

Nui Bay, next to, but more popular than 'Loh Lana Bay' the clear waters here and the sun hitting the white sand on the beaches, this is a perfect beach sheltered by cliffs where you can relax for day soak up the rays, and avoid the large amount of tourists visiting this island.

#9 Monkey Beach

Monkey beach, or locally known as Saam Haad, which translates literally as 'three beach' one of the most populat tourist hotspots on the island you can get here fairly easily with most boat tours passing by here. Stop off and see the wild monkeys running and swinging through through the cliffs and see them come down to the beaches, be careful though if you take any food or drinks onto the beach it will be taken by the monkeys!

#10 Loh Dalam Bay

Loh dalam bay is running parralel anong side Tonsai bay it is the most common beach to visit and the biggest, it is connected onto Tonsai village so easy to access, it is here you will find kayaks to rent out, restaurants and bars running along the top of the beach, and of coure th infamous night time fire shows! all of this going on doesnt make the beach the nicest place to relax although if you dont want to take a boat or a long walk to another beach this is where you will most likely end up.

#11 Wang Long Cove

This beautiful bay has no beach and can only be accesed by boat, sheltered all around by cliffs and filled by the most beautiful tropical fishes all swimming to surface, it is one of the nicest snorkelling spots on the island and relativly unheard of and unvisited by tour groups.

#12 Shark Point

The waters just off from 'Long Beach' are refered to as 'Shark point' for the obvious reason, there are families of sharks living in the water here, a perfect spot for snorkeling. But dont be afraid the only sharks here are black tip reef sharks and Leopard Sharks so there is nothing to worry about, they are very friendly!

Phi Phi Leh Island

#13 Viking Cave

Although stunning to see, you cannot actually go inside the cave! This is due to people working in the viking cave harvesting birds from bamboo scaffolding the nests are eaten as a delicacy in China, It is intresting to see but if you take a tour that is visiting here please bear in mind you will only be there for a short amount of time to take a photograph of the cave.

#14 Pilleh Lagoon

The shear beauty of this hidden gem, located on Phi Phi Leh island around five minutes from the world famous May Bay you will find the perfect snorkelling spot with the deepest point reaching around 15 meters in depth. With high cliffs sheltering the bay all around meaning no tides or waves, just the sound of the water gently hitting the rocks around makes this one of the most peaceful places on earth, the crystal clear waters, the beautiful corals under the sea and the tropical fish darting in and out will be something you cant forget.

#15 Loh Samah Bay

Loh Samah, the back side to Maya Bay, it is from here you can leave the boat jump into the sea(there is no beach here), and swim towards the netted rope ladder to climb to the top of the rocks, from the top there is a wooden staircase on the other side which will bring you into the small jungle area with a few huts lived in by local national park rangers. Keep following this track and it will soon bring you out to the paradise beach that is of coure Maya Bay. often boats will stop here when maya bay is unaccessible due to bad weathers.

#16 Maya Bay

This is the one, this the beach that everyone who visits Koh Phi Phi is here to see, everyone is wanting that perfect photo of this famous and stunning beach. This is where the 2001 movie 'The Beach' starring Leornardo Di'caprio was set, due to that it has resulted in increased tourism to the beach with everone wanting to see this beatufic scenery as it was in the movie wanting to walk on the hot white sands of a deserted beach and touch their own slice of paradise. Unfortunately this once well kept secret is now out with thousands of visitors each day, but dont let that put you off the beach is still one of the most beautiful in the world surrounds by cliffs with waves lapping into the rocks and the sun beaming down its a must see.

#17 Bamboo Island  (Ko Mai Phai)

If you are looking to avoid the crowds visiting Maya Bay, take a trip over to Bamboo Island this island lays around eight miles north of Phi Phi Don and can be seen by ferry on the way to and from Krabi. This island is completely unlike the other Phi phi islands with no rocks, no peaks, no cliffs, just a small flat beach emerging from the clear sea all around, as this island is more remote and not as famous as Maya Bay there is still some space left on the beaches here, but remember as always its first come first served.

#18 Mosquito Island (Koh Yung)

Mosquito island is located a few minutes away from Bamboo Island north of Phi phi Don, the island has no beaches here, its only limestone jetting out from the Andaman sea, covered all around with coral reefs making it one of the most popular snorkelling spots on Koh Phi Phi, and dont be put off by the name as there are not many mosquitoes around this island at all! At the time of writing this, Mosquito island has been closed to tourism by the national park service and is due to re-open in 2017.

#19 Bida Nai

Bida Nai island is the second smallest of six Phi Phi islands, it is nothing more than a limestone rock jetting out from the Andaman sea but its home to some of best marine life in Phi Phi, it is here the leopard sharks, schools of barakuda and many more can be found.

#20 Bida Nok

Bida Nok island is the smallest of the Phi Phi islands with limestone mountains rising out from the sea to heights of over 500 meters at some points, laying in the sea next to Bida Nai just south of Phi Phi Leh this island is used mainly as a dive site and is avoided by most boat tours.

#21 Hin Klang

Hin Klang is technically Koh Phi Phi's seventh island although it does not touch the surface of the water, it is totally submerged. Often referred to as Thailands answer to the Great Barrier Reef, being so shallow it allows great for snorkelling, here you can see the beautiful coral reefs, anemone's, and the tropical fish such as the clown fish.
